I Been Waiting For You is a soulful, blues-leaning R&B track about missing something you love and wondering when the hell it’s finally coming back.

Written by Steve Maggiora and Bob Fridzema during the shutdown of 2020, the song started with the two musicians talking about all the gigs and live music that had suddenly disappeared from their lives. Instead of writing a literal song about the pandemic, they turned those missing gigs into the character of a lover who had gone away - leaving the narrator sitting at home, broke, dressed up with nowhere to go, and waiting for her to come back around.

The result is a bluesy, tongue-in-cheek heartache song that works whether you know the story behind it or not.

Built around Wurlitzer, Hammond organ, guitars, saxophone, and a deep live groove, the recording came together remotely with musicians contributing from California, Denmark, and the UK.
